It's time for some practical tips, mamas!  When you're out and about with your little one(s), sometimes the only thing that can help you avoid their big emotions is a snack.  We stash them everywhere, don't we?  I've even been known to use the glove box for "emergency" snacks! So from all the choices out there, what kinds of food should you pick?

We asked our Mighty Mamas to share their thoughts and here is what they said.

"My kids love applesauce packets which are easy to throw into my purse and a healthy snack for when they're hungry."

-Hannah, Mom to four, Freelance Writer and Seamstress

"Breastmilk. Breastfeeding is the easiest way to travel with baby! For toddlers and older kids, any food you can eat without silverware such as bananas, peanut butter & honey sandwiches, juice packs, and reusable pouches with applesauce."

-Beth, Mom to two, Domestic Engineer

"Well my daughter is only 5 months and just starting on food so I am not much help in this arena. I do love the idea though of the cheerio necklace for grocery shopping so I will be giving that a try once she is ready. Otherwise that's all I got folks!"

-Samantha, Mom to one, Student

"My son loves finger foods and doesn't like being fed. He's at the stage where he's doing it himself. He really likes the Gerber Lil Crunchies. I like how they don't leave *much* residue and crumbs, and they are easy for him to hold. We keep a tub in the diaper bag."

-Jasmine, Mom to one, Stay at Home Mom

"My 2-year-old seems to favor eating sand at the playground, but in terms of ingestible food, his favorite on-the-go snack is a toss up between Harvest Snap Snapea Crisps and fruit squeeze pouches. Sure, he’d love to eat cookies and chocolate all the time, but I try to keep it somewhat healthy."

-Michelle, Mom to one, Construction Company Manager, Artist, and Blogger

"Applesauce pouches
Cheese sticks"

-Kim, Mom to two, Stay at Home Mom

"My 11 month old loves food pouches. My 3.5 year old loves cheese sticks, crackers, and any type of fruit. Berries and apple slices are easy on the go!"

-JeeYoung, Mom to two, Consultant

"I wish I could say something healthy like carrot sticks, but let's be real...Goldfish Crackers are my go-to. I don't know what it is about those tiny little cheese baked fish but my kids love them! They are always in my purse for those times when you need a little "persuasion" to get thru the store without a full on meltdown."

-Brynn, Mom to two, Registered Dietician and Stay at Home Momma

"I’m a big fan of granola bars, especially the high protein kind that will fill up a hungry kid or mommy in a pinch. When my kids were little, I also kept fruit snacks in my purse all the time - it was often all they would eat!"

-Ceci, Mom to three, Freelance Writer and Blogger

"When my toddler was transitioning from breast milk to solids I was obsessed with concocting my own baby food recipes, portioning them out, and using leftover breastmilk bags to freeze and store food for months on end. It was all made in an afternoon, lasted forever, and was super simple to grab and go - plus I knew the fresh ingredients that I was using were healthy! Now that baby G is a little older, I find myself using disposable fruit pouches for quick healthy snacks that can sit in my diaper back for weeks and virtually survive any environment. They have saved my life from toddler tantrums during many car rides and shopping trips!"
